Time for an update, if I was a library book, I would have been long overdue.
I’ve started on the baby’s room too. There was a little hiccup with the paint colour. I had gone to get the right colour mixed, the so called duck egg blue I was after. So I had them mix me a sample pot at Bunnings. Came home, splashed the paint on the wall ( well not literally), left it to dry to see how the colour would work out in the day time with natural sunlight coming through the room and in the evening when I’ve got the lights on. It turned out as I hoped, so happy with the sample colour so I sent hubby to the same Bunnings to have them mix up that same colour in a bigger pot while I busied myself on this tree silhouette I’ve decided to implement in the nursery , not to waste the paint from the sample pot, I fill in the gaps with it and heres where we insert the prelude to phantom of the opera. Hubby comes home with my pot of paint, we dip the rollers in. At first glance it looked pretty similar to my sample pot colour so I happily continued filling in the gaps of my silhouette only to find out that the two colours were different. Same name but different concoction and the problem is I don’t like the second colour, It’s just the wrong colour. I have yet to get into Bunnings and get my paint colour fixed arghhhhhhh so much for trusting the paint mixing experts so there goes my baby nursery on hold!
This is what I'm talking about, can you spot the difference?
On a happier blue note,I have to share pictures of these gorgeous embroidered pillowcases made by the sweet Lisa Tutman. I was elated to have won them in her giveaway. Lisa has to be one of the sweetest people I’ve gotten to know through blog land. Thank you Lisa for your generosity. Lisa’s blog is a must visit, it’s called Celebrate Creativity in all its form and is filled with fantastic ideas, she works magic with her hands, you’ll have to check it out to understand what I’m on about. I say ‘Cheers’ to such wonderful blogging friendships!

Hi! Good to hear that everything is ok with you. Yep I can see the difference between wrong and right color! I love the right color. It's going to be a lovely room for the baby boy! Take care!
Adla, i can't believe you are 6 months along already...my goodness...you will be holding your sweet bundle of joy in your arms before you know it...i am so happy for you:) i do see a difference in those paint colors, how frustrating...i can't wait to see your finished nursery!!!
How frustrating the paint situation is! And I too can see the difference.
Hope it gets sorted soon

Am loving reading your "expecting" posts. It has reminded me of the feelings I had when expecting my first bub! Yes I can see what you mean with the paint, hope they give you a refund, paints not cheap! time to do some shots of your glowing pregnancy me thinks, wheres that tum??
Alicia :0)
Wow you're already more than 6 months? gosh this is flying, well for me anyway! Do you feel like it is just going so fast?
I'm with you on being prepared, - if it works for you then great - i did the same too, lol!
How on earth could they get that colour mixed so wrong?! It's really different! LOL! hope they fix it right for you. Take care and relax if you can!
Great to hear you are doing so well with the pregnancy. I am with you on the being prepared.I hate running late and not having things ready.
What a shame about the colour mix. Maybe it was a different paint brands 'Duck Egg Blue' as some of them use the same name for colours. I had that happen when I sent my hubby out for more paint!!!
Take care
Alison
Hi Adla, I often wonder how things are going along for you, so pleased everything seems fine, yes I remember all the little niggly worries - I think fear when I didn't feel movement for a few days was amongst the scariest - turns out it's normal, I have two children who are absolutely full of boundless energy. I think it's good the paint shops haven't perfected the non fail colour mixes, well where would I buy my cheap miss mixed paint from?
Seriously, how annoying.
Take care!
So glad that everything is going well...don't worry about what anyone else says..every pregnancy is different...it's like comparing chalk and cheese...I think the blue you like is a bit lighter than the other, it's very pretty...can't wait to see how you have decorated the nursery!
hugs
Sandi
Yep, it's a different color! Owww.... that's so frustrating! But I think it will turn out beautifully in the end!
And those little worries are so recognizable! I've 3 kids and 3 times I had them! Enjoy these last 3 months!
Oh, Adla I'm so glad you were able to use the pillowcases. They look wonderful in your room. I love how they look with your other pretty linens.
Thanks for being such a sweet blogging friend.
Good luck with your special "countdown". So many changes and fun ahead for you.
Take care.
Just hopped over here. I know what you mean about your peanut trying out for the Olympics! With my four (four pregnancies, not quads, LOL!)I swore they'd grab hold of my rib cage and swing back and forth like monkeys!
Ooooh, an autumn baby! 3 of mine were born in the fall, too. Nice time...not too cold, not too hot!
Hi Adla,
I've been wondering how you were going. Sounds like you are pretty busy preparing for bubs arrival.
The paint saga is very annoying!!! You would expect them to get it right now that it is computerised. Hope hubby can sort it all out for you.
Look after yourself and remember not to over do it.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
What a shame the colors did not match. Paint can be a bit tricky like that sometimes and colors are sooooo specific to us creative folks, the color is right or it's not.
Great posts on your creative projects, thanks for sharing.
I was just checking in to see if you posted anew, but no...I'm anxious to see the results of the baby's room...have you decided on a name yet or is Bub gonna be it for the duration, lol? You remind me so much of when I was expecting my first one...how scared I was and how natural it all actually became...I'm thinking of you everyday...hugs
Sandi
So glad all is well, I was getting worried about you. As for paint, I once had to go back to the paint shop 4 times to get the right shade, but everyday when I walk into my yellow living room, I'm so glad I did.
Wow your coming into the home stretch for your pregnancy!
What an exciting time for you.
I wish I could have more children but nature never cooperated and I count my blessings for my little guy!
enjoy this blessed time.
smiles,
Sandy
Hi Adla!! Just popping over to tell you that I'm back in town. Hoping that everything goes well with you and the painting of the nursery ;-D
I have to dig deep in my memory but I believe that I was a little more tired in the last two months of my pregancies. Just take your rest, eat well, sleep well and before you know the little boy lies in your arms. Take care!
Hi Sweets,
You haven't blogged for ages but I know you must be so busy with moving and the preparations for bubs. When you have time, pop on over I have given you an award.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
