The long weekend...

The long weekend spent at Hyde Park had a few stories of its own. The Hubby and I decided to be a little well ahead of time so we went to the park on Saturday, found our allocated lot and decided to pitch the tent so we'd be all ready the next morning. Happy with our early bird catches the worm theory, we were shocked to arrive the next morning to find someone had set up their stall underneath our tent and they were nowhere to be found. My initial thoughts was that hmmmm they probably thought someone was kind enough to pitch this tent for them, then my thoughts strayed to hmmm perhaps they wanted to shelter their goods overnight and thought they'd move it in the morning so I stayed with the later. So there I was, stuck for a moment, my things needed to be unloaded but because of this person who had their things spread across my tent, it was somewhat impossible. So time check was 7.30, the fair was to open at ten. I gave them the benefit of doubt and told myself that they'd arrive soon. I didn't want to be responsible for moving their things away, the things that were under MY tent! 7.45 passed then 8.00 and my patience grew thinner. I needed to get things done so the darling hubby spoke to the Organizers of the fair and they decided to just shove their things to the side and set up our tables and things. 8.30 passed then 9.00 then 9.30 ...then I was learning that these were an inconsiderate bunch of people if they wanted to spare their goods from the weather by placing it in another persons tent then just have the consideration to come in early and move it.By the way the people who were responsible for this inconsiderable act are from an organization called Cat Haven. I think what they are doing for cats are great but a little consideration for the human kind would be greatly appreciated too so if any of you from there read this, please consider what I have to say and be a little more considerate the next time around if ever, Thank you!

Shaded trees line the walkway around Hyde ParkMy neighbouring feathered friendsA little busking entertainment

So the story goes, the fair had a huge crowd on both days, both hubby and myself enjoyed the weather. Hyde park is quite huge and lined with beautiful oak trees ( well I think they are oak trees) and we were happy to be located just beside the lake so we had the ducks and the swans swim by to say hello. There was alot going on from belly dancing, animal farm and carnival games but ofcourse I was busy with my own stall so I did not galavant. A few friends came by to say hello and it was nice to meet some old crafting friends who use to do the craft fairs with me some 8 years ago...Hi Sandra , it was nice to catch up! Happy that the fair is over and done with. I leave you with some shots of Vintage Delights at the fair.

Much blogging love,

Geez Adla, I cant believe that people would do that (taking over the tent). Did they just think it was a tent for anyone?? Honestly its quite surprising isnt it how some people think (or not think in this case). Anyway your stall looks lovely, hope you made lots of sales. Btw I think the trees that I see in the photo are Plane trees, councils use them in parks quite a bit as they are lovely to look at and quite hardy too! I could be wrong though!!

PS. still getting pop ups on your blog which is so weird as I dont get them with any other blogs I visit. It really doesnt worry me that much but thought you should know :0) Very strange isnt it!

Hi Adla, what an amazing thing for someone to do - takeover your tent!! Amazing.
Such a lovely venue fofr a market. I must admit it would be about 15 years since I have been to Perth but I do remmeber how lovely that area is.
I'm like Alicia with getting the pop-ups with your blog. I just click them off.

I have been catching up quite a few posts. Oooh you have been so busy, making all those delights! Well done! Your tent looked lovely too. Too bad it was just too far away, I'm sure I would have enjoyed myself at your booth! Sorry to hear that there are always people who think of themselves in the first place (and probably the second and third as well). But this inconsiderate action now is read over the whole wide world!! Revenge!!!!
Have a nice weekend! Love L.

Your tables look wonderful. Filled with so many beautiful things.

Sorry things were a bit rough at first but in the end you still had a great presentation.

Beautiful pictures of the park too.

Well the very nerve...I would have shifted their stuff over much sooner, but what do they mean giving cats a bad name??? Hope you were very successful. The pictures are wonderful Adla...they look like paintings specially the top one of the birds and the lake. Lovely!!!

Wow Adla, I don't know if I would have been as patient as you were! It's amazing that people have such nerve and take advantage in that way. Your photos are really beautiful.

OWOH was such a wonderful experience. I enjoyed meeting everyone and wanted to stop by again and say "hello".

Wishing you a great week with considerate people!

Hi Adla,
Your Stall looks absolutely beautiful, I wish I could fly over and buy up big time! I'm laughing about your episode with the tent, I can well imagine how you felt, you come across some very strange happenings at the markets and shows don't you?

Natasha Burns said...

Hi Adla,
Oh boy I can't get over that people would do that??? So strange! Do please tell, did they come back for their stuff or did they just leave it there all day? I'm still in shock they would come and use your allocated space AND tent!
Well the beautiful scenery must have made them want to stay because you have the prettiest position at the market, with that lovely water behind you! Your displays and goodies are absoluely divine!!!
