Creative Inspirations - A nest fit for the Queen

On one of my recent flea find trips, I stumbled across this vintage cheney cosmetic travel case. Of course I did the right thing and bought it straight away. It's in perfect condition being white and all and is covered in pink on the inside, what a bonus! I'm not going to use it as a cosmetic case so the inventive side of me has turned it into my very own lace case. Perfect for all those special lace pieces I so love to collect.

It's been a while since the creative table has seen me fiddling with my crafty knick knacks. Well with the addition of my lace case , I thought it'd be great to use some of the laces to make space for more lacey finds, after all it's not the biggest case if you get what I mean and this girl can't get enough of her lacey delights. So, I had the idea to create something out of Marie Antoinette's wardrobe with a bit of a whimsical twist. I think many of you know that I love my little birdies and what better to create a little nesting home for them, a little different from the ordinary.

A little iron cage, a body form and some lace gets me going

and tada,

here's what I've created....

One in rich cream and gold detailed with French Lace, gems and some other mixed media trims.
And another one in hues of pink and green with Bridal lace, feathered trims and a whole lot of beading sparkles.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating these pieces and am putting these ones up for sale on etsy. I am able to take special orders if anyone is interested. Hope you enjoyed this edition of my Creative Inspiration. Till next time,

Much Blogging Love,
