A fun day was had..

The alarm goes off at exactly 4.00 am. I'm awoken ,groggy eyes and pace slowly into the shower to start the day.Early mornings don't work to well with me, I have an allergic reaction to them ( yada yada excuses Adla). We were to be at the fair by 5.30 but I dilly dally at home making sure not to leave anything that I might need behind. The hubby says contrary to the organized person I proclaim to be , I'm the most disorganized organized person he knows. Hahaha. He's right on that one but I wasn't going to stamp approve that and allow it to be used as ammunition.Don't need him growing a big fat male chauvinistic ego now do I.I love him just the way he is. And so the story goes, we arrive at the park at 6.00. Fortunately the park's a 10 minute drive from where we live, phew! As we unload and begin taking things to our little spot , I make a huge realization that I had forgotten my wrapping trestle table.Checked and rechecked I had left it out of the inventory list.In panic mode, I had to confess to the hubby and admit that being the most disorganized organized person he knew I had left behind my wrapping trestle table. The wrapping trestle is where I place my tissue wraps and wrapping supplies. It's an essential part of my business at these fairs. Learning of this, the kind hubby rushes home to get me the table while I'm left to unpack and display the 100 and 1 things I had brought to the fair. Packing and unpacking is a real killer. Having moved extensively around the world, you'd probably think that I have mastered some great packing skills. As shameful as this is going to sound. I'm horrible at it! Don't rely on me if you were moving house, just don't.It's a good thing I've got other skills to fall back on, I'd be better off bringing you a hearty lunch and a pitcher of iced lemonade. So the fair begins at 9.00 , huge crowds stream in. I was busy the day through selling and meeting old crafty friends and making new ones. Despite the weather being scotching hot, somewhere around the 37-38 degree mark, I had a fantastic day. Summer seems to have popped in quite early in Perth. We were lucky to be tucked under a shady tree and the tent the hubby had pitched was a sure day saver. The day ended well even though the packing had to be done. The organizers of the fair did a wonderful job and I would like to say a big thank you to the student volunteers from UWA for helping us load up the gear back into the car. I did take some pictures to account for the day, but before that I have a tag to respond to.Sandi from Holding Patterns had tagged me few days back.I have to say that she's one of the most hilarious blogging friends I've made till date. Do check out her blog. You are a darl Sandi!

Here goes the rules of the game

Rules:A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.C. At the end of the post, the player then tags people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Here goes, six facts about me that you may not know

1.Adla is my middle name and acts like my first.
2.I am a middle child. I am squished in the middle by an older brother and a younger sister.
3.My family is originally from the Middle East.
4.I attended middle school in Muscat Oman. A story fit for another occasion
5.I hate to be in the middle of a conflict.
6.I tend to interrupt myself when I'm in the middle of something else. This is the perfect example.
And Now I shall tag the person who is in the middle of my blog roll which happens to be Mel of melsroseplace

I leave you now with pictures of my little spot at the park. Enjoy.

Our little spot under the tree

Oh it looks like so much fun. Why don't we have fairs like that here in our County? I say County because I'm sure they have fairs like this somewhere in the US, but I know that CHESTERFIELD COUNTY doesn't have anything like it...Hmm, next festival, I think I'll start a new tradition...we'll start a new trend!
Also, like you, I don't like conflict...I used to call our family the Eggshell Family, because we always went around like walking on eggshells (Saturday Night Live stole that from us, lol)
